Sacrament Programs
Heritage I and II Programs
This program runs for two(2) consecutive years and is designed for students in Grades 3-8 who have not received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
This is a time of renewed concentration on the spirtual growth of the student and the family to which they belong. These programs are designed to assist the family in the preparation of their candidate to receive a sacrament. This preparation requires a firm commitment to the faith by the family; an ongoing education of the parent in their role as teacher; preparing their student fo rthe sacrament with the Sacred Heart Community; and enlisting the entrie family in supporting this spiritual growth so that the candidate will be able to full participate in the Sacrament.
We must have Birth and Baptism certificates for those entering preparation for Reconciliation or Eucharist
For Families with Custody and Guardianship issues: We must have a notarized letter from both parents or legal guardians supporting that the child may receive Sacraments
For families with Guardianship issues: We must have all legal guardianship papers from the courts(with the seal of the court) on file.
Reconciliation and Eucharist
This program runs for two (2) years with the emphasis on Reconciliation in the first year of preparation and Eucharist in the second year of preparation. The Sacrament preparation merely augments the basic religious education. Therefore a firm commitment ot the process by the student and family must be demonstrated through the student's class attendance and Mass attendance. In the Heritage I and II classes, emphasis will be on the Eucharist. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be received in the first year and Eucharist will be received in the second year of preparation.
